They may not sit flat on the shelf and there may be small imperfections in the grain meaning the surface is not entirely smooth - this is often more noticeable in the light-coloured toys. This does not mean it is faulty, it means it is handmade from scratch so is completely unique, unlike factory made wooden toys. Please note, since natural rubber is 100% natural and BEST YEARS do not use stuffing or chemicals in their toys, they can change shape slightly if exposed to cold, and look slightly concave. This is perfectly safe and normal shape sometimes returns once the rubber warms up again. (see orange diplodocus for example).
