House
The Hedgehog Habitat is primarily designed for the safe feeding and nesting of hedgehogs. By virtue of the house's internal tunnel design, it stops hedgehogs from being attacked and hedgehog food from being stolen by cats and dogs.
This design is popular with many other hedgehog rescue charities, as it provides safe refuge for when hogs are released into the carer’s gardens in Springtime.
Constructed from FSC certified timber and the pitched roof has been covered with roofing felt. The roof is double skinned for insulation and weather protection, whilst the raised timber floor keeps damp out. The Hedgehog Habitats' robust, all-screwed construction withstands light crushing and strimming.
Remember, hedgehogs are wild creatures; hedgehog houses should be covered over the winter for insulation. We recommend that houses are only checked and maintained annually; early summer is best.
Hedgehog Guide
This useful leaflet advises on conserving British hedgehogs, including tips on hedgehog-friendly gardening, feeding and offering homes for the popular mammals. Wildlife World has produced the 4-page double-sided laminated guide in partnership with the British Hedgehog Preservation Society.
Food & Water Dish
One of the very best ways to encourage hedgehogs into your garden is to leave food and water out regularly.
The specially designed Hedgehog water Bowl is the convenient, hygienic way to offer water for hedgehogs. Finished in an attractive green glaze and made from hi-fired frost-resistant ceramic. The ceramic bowl should be washed regularly for good hygiene.
Remember to always leave out drinking water for the hedgehogs as well as food.
Never offer milk as hedgehogs are lactose intolerant.
